Wow! We are so excited that 949 backers will be celebrating the holidays with us this year!
Thank you so much for supporting our most recent project. Our wonderful backer community means so much to us – your encouragement and enthusiasm keeps us striving to create the best content we possibly can for you all to enjoy.
Here's an update on the next steps of the project and reward fulfilment.
What Happens Next?
The good news is that The Game Master’s Christmas Essentials and all of our festive add-ons are gift-wrapped and sat in our virtual sleigh ready for delivery! We are aiming to start fulfilling products via our website on Friday 10th December.
However, there are a few bits of admin required before your rewards make their way into your stockings:
- Kickstarter will shortly begin charging your cards and processing your pledges. If your card is declined, you will have a window in which to fix the payment method before they make a second attempt. However, unfortunately, this will delay access to your rewards.
- We are aiming to send out pledge managers as soon as possible, via our friends at BackerKit.
Pledge Managers
If you want immediate access to your rewards as soon as they are available (see below), please ensure you complete your BackerKit pledge manager on the day they are sent out. This will allow us to gather your email address and some other key info needed to process your rewards. You’ll also have the opportunity to add extra rewards to your pledge, if you would like to.
Accessing Your Rewards
You will receive coupon codes for each of your rewards that can be redeemed on our website, www.rollandplaypress.com. We are aiming to send out the coupon codes on Friday 10th December 20:00GMT – backers who complete their pledge manager after this date may have to wait 1-3 working days to receive their codes.
We will post another update shortly to let you know when the pledge managers have been sent out, and another when the rewards are available for download. Stay tuned for more advice on accessing your festive downloads very soon!

Meet The Playable Races

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well and getting into the holiday spirit!
There’s been so much happening behind-the-scenes on this campaign, so we wanted to give you an update on how the project is developing.
We’ve been working hard on all the additional content, from battle maps to monsters. We are excited to reveal some brand-new artwork here for you! Meet our three new playable races:
Grouchers (green, furry mountain dwellers): Grouchers are often misrepresented as mean-tempered spoilsports who dislike festivities. However, grouchers simply value efficiency, sustainability and reject waste of any form, which happens to include gift-giving. These traditionally reclusive mountain dwellers are physically adapted to life at altitude. Grouchers have also developed an advanced technological culture, focused on making the traps, navigational tools and other items they need to survive in harsh conditions.
Snowborn (enchanted snow constructs): Little is known of the origins of these enchanted snow constructs, though it is clear some sort of elemental magic was involved. Spontaneously created in adult form, the snowborn inherit no knowledge of the ethics, etiquette or risks of the world around them, so their curiosity can seem naive or impulsive at times. Their innate magic allows snowborn to assume an ice form for protection in battle and gives them senses similar to most humanoid creatures, despite having lumps of coal for eyes and a carrot for a nose.
Tarandus (reindeer humanoids): For millennia, the tarandus have been recognised as a society of scholars, who consider it their duty to witness and record the history of their world. Tarandus are generally taught to be impartial observers, who should avoid interfering in historical events, unless it is required in self-defence or their herd is in danger. These stately reindeer humanoids have dark-red noses, which can shine light to illuminate dark areas.
Illustrated by Sketchgoblin, each playable race is fleshed out in an 8-page PDF booklet including background lore, culture and lifestyle, traits, name suggestions, features and in-game abilities. Each booklet also includes rules for both Dungeons & Dragons 5E and Pathfinder 2E role-playing games. All three playable races are available in the STORYTELLER pledge level, or as an add-on in the post-project pledge manager.
The Roll & Play: The Game Master’s Christmas Essentials eBook PDF is now finished and has been proofread, ready for launch. As a reminder, the first editions will NOT feature backer names, as this takes a little while to put together and we want to make sure you have all the festive content as soon as possible. We will provide everyone with an updated edition once all names have been collated.
